A city in the pharaohs' mail
Kumidi appears in the Amarna letters, the diplomatic correspondence of Egypt's 18th-Dynasty pharaohs — an Egyptian administrative seat on the great route through the Bekaa. Decades of excavation have revealed temples, palaces and a long urban history under the modern town.

Telling the site's story — on site and online
Four large panels are going up at the site, guiding visitors through Kumidi's long history and pointing out what the eye alone would miss. And for everyone who cannot come in person, we have created a digital visit of Kamid el-Loz — so that the site will be accessible from anywhere in the world.
